A Little Golden Book from 1970 with early Richard Scarry illustrations different from his later outline style of drawing. The repetitive format with animal sounds repeated when the farm animals are fed allows the listener to participate. ( )

Farmer Jones' animals are hungry for supper, but he is still working in the field. Each animal makes their respective sound as they wonder "where is Farmer Jones?" Wonderful for young children to introduce them to animal sounds. The Richard Scarry illustrations are very different from his "Busytown" artwork, and provide an interesting contrast for children to think about. ( )
