werewolves, but actually a separate species of highly evolved
humanocanoids, therefore they are highly intelligent. Still hang out in
packs, etc., and are not tool users, but have super canine senses and
speed.
This could easily have been a Witchblade story, touch female cop,
annoying partner - the old crusty variety, not the young clueless
surfer dude type here, though. Shockingly, said partner has a crush on
said good looking woman detective.
The story and style is quite engaging, when a pack of Wolfen mess
up and kill two young cops instead of your usual 'no one will miss this
old homeless guy' meal, it becomes a story of who is hunting who. With
a fast and brutal end.
