One of the reviewers over at TheForce.Net said that the book was a bit lacking in the ‘noir’ department, but that didn’t matter to me, because I’ve never actually read any ‘noir’ so I have no way of making a judgement because of that. This book seemed to me as if a collective breath had been taken, as if the characters were taking stock of themselves and their situations before the final act. (  ) edstan76 | Mar 14, 2009 | Jax is a Jedi in a time when the Jedi are hunted if not already dead, during that time after Darth Vadar "came to life" and "A New Hope". He is trying to help those wanting to get off Coruscant, the Imperial Planet Center. He is also being sought out by two different people for different ends but both will lead to Vadar, who wants Jax found. For Star Wars fans, this is a good read. In fact, it's a good read for anyone! (  ) koalamom | Jan 31, 2009 | My biggest disappointment - Jax is such a guy! (as in oblivious - and a sucker for a pretty face). Other than that, I enjoyed this installment. The plot was a little weak - Jax is conveniently difficult to find and then again, not so difficult to find. I did enjoy Reaves’ efforts to make the aliens alien, with their own distinctive cultures. They don’t make up for the book’s sore need of a strict editor. (
