These novels do not stand alone. The book order is:MARKEDBETRAYEDCHOSENUNTAMEDHUNTEDHUNTED picks up exactly where UNTAMED leaves off. Zoey and the gang are regrouping in the tunnels that the red fledglings have been calling home after escaping from the House of Night. An ice storm has crippled the city, making any further retreat impossible. Stevie Rae is badly injured and while Zoey, Aphrodite, and Darius try to save her, Damien, Erik, Jack, and the twins try to secure the tunnels.Zoey’s main concern is stopping Neferet and Kalona from gaining anymore power. They already have the House of Night under lock-down and are taking focus away from Nyx and if Zoey’s visions are correct, things are only going to get worse. After a near fatal attack, Zoey has to be rushed to the House of Night for proper healing. While there, she reconnects with Stark and gets some valuabe information about the situation of the school. HUNTED seems like a “bridge” book in the series. The plot advancements must be needed to set up the next book in the series. So, needless to say, there isn’t a lot of new information in this book. However, Zoey does fall victim to her difficult love life again. *smirk* ( )Yet another disappointing addition the House of Night series. Get ready for it.....Stop with the summarizations. This is book five. I’m so very tired of reading things I already know. Granted, it wasn’t as bad in this book as it has been with the other novels. But please. That could cut out a good 50 pages of stuff we already know. Are we really back to being the womanizer? I mean really how many guys are dying to get in Zoey’s pants? Is it 5 now? Oh wait the only one that actually did get in her pants died, that’s right, so I guess were back to 4. But seriously, Heath, honey, I thought you got your head out of your ass in the last book! Why the relapse! You know what– I don’t even care that she has four boyfriends, she is vampyre priestess and all that, more power to her. I just want to shake a little or maybe slap her a few times. She is a strong character, why does she need all these guys... we may never know. The first chapter I was good, it was great. I was like alright let’s kick some dark angel butt! But no, I had to keep reading. And it was sooooo Annoying! The dialogue is so rushed, and irregular. I was seriously cringing. “Like oh my god, you so totally did not just say that!” The characters that I once loved, where are they? Damien, sweety, what happened to you? Twins, your not even funny or smart anymore, just annoying– there’s that word again. And don’t even get me started on Aphrodite and Stevie Rae. Where is the bitch that I knew and loved, and is how many times is Stevie Rae going to die, before she really dies? I think that Untamed and Hunted could have easily been one novel. The big climax that we were building up to the entire book *crickets*. Yeah nothing. Lets just hold hands and everything will be all better. WTF?I don’t even know where to go from here. I wish I had something positive to say, but really I don’t and that never happens. Okay wait, it did keep my attention, but that may have been because I just wanted to know what was going to happen, then actually having my attention because I was enjoying the novel. Most likely I’ll continue to read the series, I guess it is supposed to be nine books. I just really hope that the authors step it up for the next book. Despite the typos and plot holes, I actually liked this book. The whole Kalona/A-Ya (Zoey) thing was interesting to me. The interaction between those two characters was somewhat enticing, enough to keep me wondering if Zoey would cave in. She has a habit of making bad choices with males, so I wouldn't have been surprised. I kept expecting her to blunder, but she held strong. I'm relieved that not every twist and turn was predictable in this particular book. I'm a bit surprised that Zoey seems to be on the way to living an life of polygamy. I don't approve or disapprove, but it was really bold of the authors to lead Zoey in that direction. Hmm. What else? All in all, I like this series. I don't think it'll ever be worth four or five stars, but it's still worth a read. Amazing! It went by so fast! I hate how short the book was. I needed a lot more contend and character development. The end was a little unbelievable. I really enjoy this series but this one was not as good as the others. 0.020 seconds to build listing
