Finished Fool which was great... funny and tragic. And to continue on with the silliness I'm starting Definitely Dead - contrary to my good sense. I'm also close to finishing The Metamorphosis on my iPhone. While I have an aversion to Kindle and company, it is very convenient to read on my ...

Huh. Matchless is out of Harper Collins/William Morrow, just like Fool is. Not a good sign for receiving it. Keeping my hopes alive, but in a coma.

Oh, yes, in general I enjoy his work very much, though I must say that I was disappointed with Fool.

#53 - I haven't received my copy of Matchless yet. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will arrive soon... unlike Fool which never did. :(

... I'd say, and doesn't have reoccurring characters (as far as I can remember...) like You Suck or Bloodsucking Fiends. Fool was pretty funny too, though not really *fantasy* it was about King Lear's jester.

I've been reading a lot of serious books as of late, so I decided to crack open a silly book. I've read all Moore's books with the exception ...

#108 I'm a big Christopher Moore fan but haven't read Fool yet. Was it as good as all his other books?

I just finished Fool by Christopher Moore and I'm almost finished with Physics Of The Impossible by Michio Kaku.

... series. I'm going to pick up the Dedalus Book Portuguese Fantasy but I think I might read it simultaneously with Fool.

I never received Fool: A Novel either. I'm not sure any of us did. I've since found it in a used book store, purchased, read and reviewed. Once a publisher backs out on a promise such as an ER edition, I am much less likely to buy a book at all. Only because I so enjoy Christopher Moor ...

Argh. Just got one of those automated reminder notices that I haven't yet reviewed Fool: A Novel from the December 2008 batch. I never received it. I emailed Abby and she chalked it up to "lost in mail" but the reminder notice still came. :(

39F.) Fool by Christopher Moore A bawdy novel, loosely based on Shakespeare's King Lear. The protaganist is the king's Fool, and he takes it upon himself to save the kingdom. Or possibly destroy it. Although this book may be a bit over the top for some, I thought it was hilarious. Oh boy, ...

    #54: Fool by Christopher Moore 06/07/09 - 06/14/09, ***1/2 Reviewed

I am reading Fool by Christopher Moore 1. I borrowed this book from the Durham County Library. 2. I'm reading this now because I love Shakespeare and wanted to read something gently coinciding with Shakespeare for my birthday. 3. It's been sitting on my shelf for at least three weeks. ...

    26. Fool by Christopher Moore This was hilarious - the tale of King Lear and his daughters, as told by his bawdy, vulgar and inordinately horny court jester. The ending is certainly better than the original, and it kept me giggling all the way through.

"It's not nonsense, it's Welsh." Fool by Christopher Moore "Is loyalty a virtue when paid to virtue's stranger?"

I'm in Britain with crotchety old King Lear and his Fool.

I've given up on my copy of Fool: a Novel by Christopher Moore. *sadness*

    49. Fool by Christopher Moore Fun, fun, fun! Reads like a goth-y slapstick movie, just my kind of thing. Quote: "What ho, daughter," said he. "Hast thou shagged a fool?" "Methinks any wench who shags a man hath shagged a fool. Father." *snickers*

... loud (and snorted a few times) without realizing it. >124: I saw Fool in the Powell's Dose of the Day email a few weeks ago. ... I feel like I can say it wouldn't be a bad place to start. I don't know if his other works are based off other stories like Fool was, but I found it to be a great book.

    42. Fool by Christopher Moore Books Published in 2009 Finally something I can put in this category. An adaptation of King Lear, by by the fool's prospective. Very funny and good.

    46. Fool by Christopher Moore A new spin on Shakespeare’s King Lear, told by the fool’s prospective. I was immediately intrigued when I was given this book as a gift because King Lear is one play I am very familiar with having done a production of it in high school. Knowing the story ...

Thanks for making us 'official' Maggie! I got sidetracked by Fool but I will get to it soon.

I just got home from an author event with Christopher Moore and got my copy of Fool autographed. This was the first time I had seen/heard him and he is just as funny in person as his books. Seems like a really nice guy too.

I'm reading Fool: A Novel by Christopher Moore which just came out today. I'm so excited! I love Christopher Moore and am thrilled he's taking on one of Shakespeare's tragedies. It's King Lear as only Moore could tell it. DeltaQueen, I hope you're enjoying The Book Thief! It's honestly ...

    117. Fool: a Novel by Christopher Moore. 8 stars. ER When Moore or his publisher says it's bawdy, you had better believe it. I, who am no prude by any stretch of anyone's imagination, was a bit taken aback at first by the language and scenes of lewdness and debauchery. However, I stuck in ...

Finished Fool: a novel by Christopher Moore, which, as advertised, was bawdy indeed, but which also turned out to be highly entertaining. Started Chasing Darkness, Wolfbane and Mistletoe (an anthology of holiday tales of horror, featuring Sookie Stackhouse), and Gods Behaving Badly. Oh ...

Still reading Fool by Christopher Moore, an ARC. It is a retelling of the King Lear story. I was so happy to get it because I absolutely love Lamb: the gospel according to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal. Fool arrived with a warning that it was a "bawdy" tale. Well! Bawdy doesn't come ...
