I would personally use this mainly for subtraction, as well as repition. Very simple and easy for kids to understand, and it keeps their attention. ( )

Summary: This book uses a fun and musical way to read and learn saying the numbers 1-5 backwards. It can be read interactively with using your fingers and some body movements.

Review: I like the fact that I can sing the song and make it fun through actions. This seems to get the children more involved and you are also able to incorporate many area of Gardner's multiple intelligence's. ( )

This book is a fun addition to a classroom or home library, especially as you talk about frogs. Its reverse counting and rhyming structure lends itself easily to a sing-song reading, which is always compelling to young children. The onomatopoeia as the frogs eat bugs adds to the gaiety of the book, and the simple repetition is a hit with the younger audience. The illustrations are bright and cheerful, with the fun addition of shiny foil inserts on each page for the speckles. I'm not sure how much the kids in my class noticed the latter, but they definitely loved this book! ( )
