I really liked this--in fact, of the three books by Palahniuk I've read (Fight Club, Invisible Monsters are the other two), this is by far my favorite. The mystery is really quite engaging, and everything comes together brilliantly in the end. ... and enjoyed it a lot. The ending doesn't disappoint.
This week I just finished Lunar Park (Bret Easton Ellis) and Invisible Monsters (Chuck Palahniuk), and I can't say either was a particular favorite--especially not Lunar Park, which was terrible. I've started another Palahniuk novel, ... ... his father, and I'm disappointed to have paid to read his self-therapy. What a waste of time.

I did enjoy reading this book, but I'm not sure I would've devoted time to it had it taken more than an afternoon to get through. There isn't a lot of ... Pete Hautman's books come right to mind -- Invisible, for instance. They're not too long and usually have a lot of action.
Other authors that might work: Gordon Korman (Son of the Mob, etc.) does good, funny books that are not too long and not too difficult. Jordan Sonnenblick (Drums, Girl ... Paul Auster's Invisible. It's my first Auster. ... consists of only three bookshelves - most of it bestsellers) that it must have been the newest one. I'll have to check out Invisible. I just finished Ghosts and am trying to figure out how to write a review for it so as soon as I do that and finish The Locked Room, I'll look into his other ... ... as Crazy as I Seem by George Harrar

We Can Have Peace in the Ho ... I finished Invisible Monsters on audio yesterday and it was absolutely brilliant. I've been told by a few that it is his best work, but we'll see as I intend to read all of his other writings. He reminds me of a more philosophical David Sedaris.

This afternoon I am going to begin Invisible Monsters on audio. Should be a quick read/listen. >237: The only other book of his that I've read was Invisible Monsters, which I very much enjoyed and from what I understand, that's more his standard fare of writing. I think Haunted was a bit...extreme...even for Palahniuk. I'd recommend trying one other book by him before giving up. The ... Invisible Monsters was my first Palahniuk as well and like you I enjoyed it, though possibly not quite as much as you did. I think I rated it a 3 and a half. Towards the end I got a bit annoyed with it. Well, I suppose there's always another way to tell a story.
Having not ready any Palahniuk before, I didn't go into this book with much in the way of expectations. In spite of this, Invisible Monsters was not what I expected.
The novel begins actually seeming like ... I read Invisible Monsters some months ago, can't wait to read your review! ... have read it, but beware, it's 400 pages of a kind of niche history.
Anywho, I'm off on another adventure entirely with Invisible Monsters by Chuckles Palahniuk, to be reviewed soonish.
