So, I'm enjoying the McGarvey novels enough to keep reading them; however, they have not yet grabbed me or elevated themselves into the rarified atmosphere of the truly great series about truly exceptional characters. Crossfire really seemed to be two stories welded together in a way that just didn't really work for me. I would have preferred either story, expanded to stand on its own. ( )
