His mother told him that she needed the computer so he couldn't play but she had to run to the store first. So, when she left Arthur's friend came over and they got on the computer and it broke. Arthur got really nervous and tried to fix it but couldn't. When his mom came home, D.W. told on him and his mom fixed it. Arthur explained that he was very sorry and she forgave him. Arthur becomes obsessed with a computer game, and of course his friend convinces him to play even though he's not supposed to. They mess up the computer and can't fix it. When Arthur's mom gets home she fixes it easily, but is disappointed Arthur disobeyed her and bans computer games for a week. Critique Genre: This story is a fantasy because the characters are different animals such as ardvarks and rabbits that talk, dress, and act like humans. It allows the students to relate to the characters even though they are not humans. The story could never actually take place, but kids can still learn from the lessons/themes of the story. Character: Arthur is the main character in this story and is a round character. We learn the most about him through his actions and his dialogue with the other characters. He is dynamic because he begins the book being obsessed with a computer game, but when he disobeys his mother and thinks he breaks the computer, he is becomes not as obsessed with the game and repentent for disobeying. no reviews | add a review
