Heheh. After being excited to see the blossoming new talent coming froward in the OEL BL world, winning a free copy of this issue not long after it came out, and reading a couple stories and finding myself disappointed, I have finally brought myself to read all the rest. Naturally it's hard to rate the writing of something from the first chapter, but, uh... First impressions are important, right?

Overall, I'd say my general impression was that the series in Rush currently are pretty weak. Now I'm trying to be relative here, cause though BL is my favorite genre I think that about most of it anyway. ^_^ But I THINK this stuff is still a bit under average, especially where story telling is concerned. I also just think it's more cheap-thrills oriented than suits my taste. I can't exactly blame DramaQueen for that, since they're doing something super risky here, so that was probably the safest way to orient this anthology. Still, though nothing horribly snatched my heart, there were a couple titles, or perhaps just authors in general, that I think might be nice to at least keep track on the progress of.

As LibraryThing seems bound and determined to not post the rest of my horrendously long review, the rest (separate reviews for each series in the anthology, can be seen here: http://www.bookcrossing.com/jour...) ( )

The first official issue of the new Yaoi magazine from Drama Queen shows a lot of potential. A couple of the authors are excellent writers, with very good art. But, a couple o fthe stories leave a little to be desired in both elements. Overall, I recommend the magazine and will keep buying if the quality continues. ( )

A teaser issue for the upcoming yaoi magazine from DramaQueen. The magazine will feature several artistis/writers that will have ongoing storylines. Definitely worth checking out! ( )
