... of 2009" thread inevitably rolls around come January.
As for me, I'm almost done with the 5th book in Meg Cabot's Mediator series. I'm not exactly sure why I persist with the series. They're okay but nothing great. I guess I've invested that much time in them I want to see them ... ... favorite fantasy author Robin McKinley, back in fine form

Definately Jesse from the Mediator series. He's yummy! And Paul was crushworthy too, if I could get over the evilness.
I'm not forgetting Rob from 1-800-WHERE-R-YOU.

Artemis Fowl Art ... Meg Cabot wrote one of my favorite series of all time, The Mediator books. Once I borrowed all of them from the library I had to go and buy the set for myself! There are a few problems with my getting the Mediator series. First, I swore years ago that I would never buy a Meg Cabot book, second I am very cautious about buying series (always afraid that I won't be able to finish them), and third it is what I term a 'holiday read', I.E. fast, cheap ... ... in there. She does get stabbed and chased a lot so it's pretty exciting.
Nymith-I very highly recommend Meg Cabot's Mediator series. I love those books, they were totally addicting! ... feature. Some books that I may not have picked up otherwise include The Book Thief, Twilight (and as a result the Mediator series), the Uglies trilogy, Spiderwick Chronicles which led to Coraline, and Looking for Alaska.
Those are just off the top of my head, so there are ... ... to know what he grew up to be.
I've also gained a new series to read from this discussion. I've never heard of Cabot's The Mediator series. I just added the first book to a shopping list for tomorrow. ... of the trilogy).
This past week, I tore through the rest of Mediator series by Meg Cabot (Reunion, Darkest Hour, Haunted, and Twilight), which were wonderfully fluffy trashy teen fun, and listened to The Slippery Slope by Lemony Snicket.
I'm currently listening to The Grim Grot ... ... neither of them really crossed the border into BookBoyfriend territory for me.
On the other hand, I just finished The Mediator series this morning, and my goodness, where do I find myself a Jesse? I mean, he was obviously written to be the perfect guy, but come on! He's gorgeous, he ... Oh, crud, we're starting already?!? I need to start my re-read.
But I'm not going to get to it until I finish The Mediator series... Luckily, they're trashy, fluffy, quick reads, so I should only be a day or two behind. ... books to re-read are:

... Terrible Beauty over the weekend and was largely unimpressed. It wasn't awful but it wasn't great either. I also read Haunted: a tale of the Mediator yesterday and quite enjoyed it! I picked it up because it was a "Special Sauce" recommendation for Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and it ... ... it so far. I haven't read anything set in Victorian Britain for a while, so it's a nice visit.
I just picked up Haunted: a tale of the Mediator and Hero with a thousand faces from the library this afternoon, and I hope to get going on those in the next couple of days. They both ... ... it a bit) favorites of what I've read in 2006:
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Secrets by F.M. McPherson
The Mediator series by Meg Cabot (I'm counting all 6 books as one!)
The Guardian's of Time Trilogy by Marianne Curley
Confessions of Georgia Nicolson by Louise ... ... the other people on my list, basically I bought books for everyone :-)

The first two Captain Underpants books for my first friend's other son
Today I ordered from Amazon:
The Mediator books one and two for my mother in law.
Old Magic and Angus Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging (yes, again) for my sister in law
and Rachel Raye 30 Minu ... ... think I ever stopped reading as a kid (I still don't, though finding time between classes gets difficult).
Jesse from The Mediator, whoever said that thing about him calling her 'querida' is dead on.
Sirius Black, Severus Snape, and Remus Lupin, in that order, from Harry Potter
Stra ... I really enjoy the Mediator series by Meg Cabot.
Growing up I read all the Trixie Belden books, but could never get into the Nancy Drew books. Trixie was a tomboy, and Nancy always wore skirts. Just didn't appeal to me.
I can't just pick one!! If I were still a teen these would be my top picks:
Jesse from The Mediator series. I love how he always calls Suze "querida".
Edward from Twilight is pretty much heartthrob material, but a bit on the scary side.
Arkarian from The Guardians of Time series by ... ... type suggestions :-)
Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer
Tithe and Valiant by Holly Black
The Mediator and 1-800-Where-R-You series by Meg Cabot
Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

Peeps and The last Days by Scott Westerfeld (vampires)
Secrets by F.M. McPherson (werewolves)

I know there are many more but I can't think of them right now. ... ... that takes me out of the world of the mundane and into something totally surreal.
My favorite books are Twilight and The Mediator series.
I've also recently developed a passion for Louise Rennison's Confessions of Georgia Nicolson books which are neither fantasy or romantic but ... ... might be the better question.
I puchased The Tomb(A Repairman Jack Novel) by F. Paul Wilson, Books 1,2 & 3 in The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot, three books about trains for my nephew, Magyk by Angie Sage, Divine by Mistake by P.C. Cast, Malice in Maggody by Joan ... My absolute favorite is Twilight by Stephenie Meyer along with New Moon. After that I would have to say The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot.
