I read the novel Gossip Girl after watching the television series. Although there were slight differences that I was confused about at first, it was a good read. Just like the show, the drama keeps you at the edge of your seat the whole time. Gossip Girl is about the extravagant lives of teenagers and their billionaire families living on the Upper East Side. Every character always has something going on in their life, the parents have their own drama as well. I would recommend this book to teenage girls, and I insist on them reading it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and need to read the rest of the series.

I give this book 2 stars, down from 4 for the first book. It was a bit disappointing. Same gossip & drama, but it was less sharp, less witty, had less spark. Too shallow, lacks all the depth and heart and character growth of the TV show. I still have hope for book #3 though, wish me luck! ( )

This book is about Blair and problems that are starting to occur in her life. She finds out that her mom is getting married to her boyfriend and that soon Blair will have a new stepbrother name Aaron. Nate dumps Blair for Jennifer, a freshman and Blair is upset. One good thing that happens, though, is that Serena and Blair fix their friendship and everything is back to normal. Aaron and Blair end up going to Yale together for Blair's interview. They decide to leave a day early and they stay up all night. Blair oversleeps and she has no time to get ready for her interview. She is so stressed that she ends up kissing her interviewer and spilling the problems she is having in her life.

Personally, I thought that this was better than the first one. It had a better plot and got into more detail. After reading this book I couldn't wait to start reading the next one. ( )
