I liked this unique book that talks about your unusual type of farms. The fist thing I liked about the book was the photograph on each page. As the reader, it was easier to understand what each of the different farms was like and how they were so unusual with a photograph of that specific farm. For example, the wind farms show a picture of many tall turbines put together in one area. This picture demonstrates the size of the turbines and the amount of space the farm takes up. Without seeing the photograph the reader may not understand the size wind farms can be.
I also like how the author provided the reader with information on how to find out more information. This book itself is small and a short read. The book only provided eight examples of unusual farms and only a short paragraph of information on each one. If the reader wanted to know more information then the author provided a list of resources for different books, websites and even farms to go see. For example, the author gave the reader an address for The Bullfrog Fish Farm in Wenomonie, WI.
The big idea of this book was to inform the reader of the different types of farms around the world. When we hear farm, we think of cows, pigs, horses but after reading this book you can understand that there a variety of different types of farms that may not even have living animals. ( )
