Truly fabulous people say "fucking" instead of "freakin'" (or they think of another title) because they know that actual curse words have gonads and that excuses "freak" and "frig" and "frak" and "darn" and "dang" and "damb" are neuter cop-outs. They also know that no fabulous person ever drops a "g."

Kelly is a funny man.

I thought this book was really fun! Still, Clinton is a lot funnier on What Not to Wear than it this book. The humor didn't always translate for me. The graphic design of this book is gorgeous. You feel like you're reading a more upscale fashion magazine. ( )

Excellent, quick read that provides heaps of useful information among the witty jokes and observations - or is it heaps of jokes and observations among the useful information? Either way, it's both fun and informative. Clinton Kelly sounds like a lot of fun and clearly lives up to the book's title - Freakin' Fabulous. I have tried a couple of the recipes and they've worked beautifully. I wish I could say I've been able to apply everything he suggested, but alas, the state of pure Fabulousness still lies in my future.

Freakin' good fun!! I loved this book and laughed out loud throughout. The appeal of this book is more in the hilarious writing than in the actual content, though it is loaded with helpful advice on a wide variety of topics, from dressing to entertaining to decorating to etiquette and correct speech. It's chock-full of gorgeous color photos and contains numerous recipes (every one with a photo) that actually look do-able. The photos of actual (crazy) thank-you notes received by Kelly alone were worth the price of the book. Note to visitors to my house: I will be taking Clinton's advice and precariously placing marbles on my medicine cabinet shelves--just in case you're feeling nosy! ( )

I've always enjoyed Clinton Kelly on What Not to Wear, but his wit and edgy humor really shine through in this book that basically teaches you how to be better than everyone else! I love that he devotes equal time to both fabulous shoes and his pet grammar peeves. The tone is arch but Kelly pokes enough fun at himself to make it clear is all in good fun. This well written book would be worth the purchase price for the party recipes alone- add in all the rest and you have the perfect gift for almost anyone on your holiday list. I know at least 4 friends who will be happily laughing over this offering come Christmas morning... ( )

Epigraph
Dedication
This book is dedicated to all the people who recognized, encouraged, and contributed to my fabulousness over the years. They include--but are by no means limited to: Mike, Terri, Jodi, Courtney, Annette, Mike, Kona, Maureen, Pawk, Meredith, Jennifer, and, of course, Damon.
First words
As you can tell by the ridiculously long subtitle of this book, fabulousness requires mastery--or at least perceived mastery--of topics ranging from style to manners to gastronomy to decor.
