1. Persepolis- Wonderful, I completely loved it. It was great to learn a little about Iran, and to learn about a different side of events that were happening when I was ... While I've been globetrotting -- Iran The Complete Persepolis, Ireland My Lady Judge, Czechoslovakia The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Sakuntala -- I've no new countries to add, must find a book from those elusive corners of the globe soon. I've just finished The Complete Persepolis -- I had read the first part before, and the second takes us into Satrapi's adolescent experiences in Europe trying to find a place to fit in and her return to Iran to reconnect with her family -- heart-wrenching.

I hope you like the second as well as you did the first, Akeela. My second equally enjoyable graphic novel for the year: Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi.
