Work detailsEarth's Children 1-5 (The Clan of the Cave Bear; The valley of horses; The mammoth hunters; The plains of passage; The shelters of stone) by Jean M. Auel
None. Overall, this is an entertaining series of novels about a woman in the prehistoric age. The books have several big flaws, but still keep you reading somehow. One of the biggest flaws for me was the length of the books. There was a lot of repetition of feelings and the descriptions of techniques and landscapes were way too elaborate (though well-researched). In conclusion, I would have liked these books better if they had been half of the volume. ( )Ms. Auel has started a new genre of stories that involves romance and action within a prehistoric beginning. All of these books are page-turners, keeping you reaching for the next book and wondering if that could have possibly been the way that we as humans might have started our evolution course since of the loneliness of a single member of a prehistoric group. Savorly tempting! A novel presents such an interesting way to get a feel for what life might have been life at this very interesting time. The first book, Clan of the Cave Bear was difficult for me to become invested in until I was half way through. Afterwards I found that I enjoyed following the characters through the remaining books. no reviews | add a review ContainsThe Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel The Valley of Horses by Jean M.
