There is nothing fresh in his novels now and they all seem to be the same, very much written on a formula. Suffice to say that the cover of the book tells us ".. by the author of 'Bravo Two Zero' ". Yes, that was in 1993, but McNab is still cashing in on a 15 year old adventure. Let's have something new now. This book follows the ex-SAS Nick Stone is his pursuit of another ex-colleague as he undertakes one last mission in Georgia. The mission is hit by a predictable twist making it less straightforward than it should have been. The characters in the book are quite 2-dimensional but the book's strength is in description of the action which often comes across as being quite real and engaging. The book manages a good pace, is relatively up to date, and maintains interest througout. no reviews | add a review
