Quidditch Through the Ages is a lovely short read. While not as entertaining as Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them (owing to the fact it is a library book, not a text book), Rowling has once again brought out the feeling of seeing into Harry's ... ... with this series though.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them by Newt Scamander I adore this book! The hand written notes by Harry, Ron, and Hermonie add a wonderfully real element. You ... Ok so off the top of my head, I have no idea what my 50 books will be this year. However, I have finished one series already, and have found at least 3 more I've already started on. Between the 3 it should add up to 50. So, I'm just going to add each book as I finish it.

I have not read Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them but I have read Where the Wild Things Are. >88 I was just reading in last week's Bookseller that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and the other 'companion' book (about quidditch, can't remember exact title) are going to be reprinted in a new edition by Bloomsbury this year, at least in the UK (so the Book Depository should have ... # 79 Cait86
I didn't know about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them but I will certainly hunt for it. I like the way Rowling adds to her world. It was a really fun series that children and adults could share. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by JK Rowlings.
Wonderful book I read when it first came out. The margin notes are my favorite part. I really wish that it had been more comprehensive, though.
BTW #405, I'm always so excited when I see other people are familiar with the Dear America ... ... matters by claiming to be about the actual author of the book (The Sacred Diary of Adrian Plass). They were a good background read and all three could probably ... ... I really enjoyed the new supplements by Rowling - the Tales of Beedle the Bard, Quidditch through the ages, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them. I have the two books Rowling wrote for charity: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch For The Ages. Beasts was more readable. I'll have to read them again to see if she considers them canon.
As for Campbell, a readable version of the Quest mythology is in The Writer's Jou ... ... essence of murlap tentacles. Sounds incredibly disgusting!
