Based on other erotica novels I'd read lately, I expected this to be more explicit that it turned out to be. As it was, there was quite a bit of story with no more explicit sex that I would expect to see in other best-seller, chick-lit type novels. I don't read a lot of popular fiction so I was rather engaged with the heroine's struggles with her family (involving addiction, secrets, and family dynamics.) I'm also not used to reading fiction that is set in my own environment (smallish-city/community in the Midwest) and I found the author's regional awareness very well done and a bit of a novelty for me. The author is actually a good writer and I was throughly engaged, not distracted by artless, clichéd writing you often have to suffer through in romance/erotica novels.

SPOILERS

As far as the relationship(s) in the story go... I enjoyed the story. I really wish there hadn't had to have been a choice at the end and the three of them could have actually walked off into the sunset together. But that's not the story the author was telling and with that in mind, I very much liked how she ended all the relationships - I kind of dig angst and it worked well for me.

I'd consider recommending this book to people I might not consider telling other erotica/romance books about - As I said, it's more of a novel with adult concepts and graphic sex than hard-core erotica. And I think the main story and setting might appeal to a lot of people who read popular "Oprah Club" style fiction. ( )

It is a tale about Anne and James Kinney. They are happily married. Anne and James have a great sex life that many would envy but it seems that there might be something missing. Alex Kenndy is James's best friend. He has been living in Singapore and is now coming back to the States for a visit. Alex will be staying with James and Anne. Anne has never really gotten to know Alex and is not sure what she thinks about him watching her with a look of lust. Besides what would James think if he knew his best friend was eyeing his wife. As it seems James doesn't mind. When Anne is given the chance to spice things up with two men will she give into temptation or pass it up?

Let me first off start by saying that Tempted is a very tasteful erotic novel by Megan Hart. Tempted shows that even the most perfect couples can fall victim to desires. I thought Anne was a great character as she showed emotions, conflict, and love. Also for me Anne seemed to be the strongest one in the book but at the same time James and Alex were able to compliment her, so that the story line was believable. Tempted was my first novel by Megan Hart. It was a good, quick read. I would check out other books by Megan Hart. So with this being said if you enjoy erotic novels or are willing to give them a try than check out Tempted. ( )

Having come off of reading the short erotic novellas, this book seemed to be a bit show. It wasn’t until I realized she’d put more dimensions into her characters and plot that I started relaxing, enjoying the read. So no dry spots in this book. The author needed to do what she did to have the impact at the end. Loved it and will read more from this author. More can be found at http://j-kaye-book-blog.blogspot.com/... and this book will be raffled off at the end of the week. ( )

Spoiler Alert: I really liked this book. I enjoyed seeing the doubts that carried in marriage. I did find myself disapointed in James and Alex's relationship. I appreciated the Chicklitesque feel of the story. It didn't focus on sex. I was disapointed that the ending was not what I consider an HEA, but it was very true to life, and so I appreciate that. Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0373605196, Paperback)

I had everything a woman could want…

My husband, James. The house on the lake.

My life. Our perfect life.

And then Alex came to visit.

The first time I saw my husband's best friend, I didn't like him. Didn't like how James changed when he was around, didn't like how his penetrating eyes followed me everywhere.

But that didn't stop me from wanting him. And, surprisingly, James didn't seem to mind.

It was meant to be fun. Something the three of us shared for those hot summer weeks Alex stayed with us. Nobody was supposed to fall in or out of love. I didn't need another man, not even one who oozed sex like honey and knew all the secrets I didn't know, the secrets my husband hadn't shared. After all, we had a perfect life.

And I loved my husband.

But I wasn't the only one.
