This book describes the adventure embarked upon by the author and her husband Harry in the mid-1980s. They moved to a village in the West of Cyprus, where they had bought some land, and built a house there.

Written in a light-hearted style, there are quirky accounts of getting to know the locals, and gradually accepting the concept of 'Cyprus time'. The descriptive writing is excellent, although for my tastes there was too much about the local flora and fauna; I would have preferred more about the local people.

Not exactly a travel guide, but could be of interest to anyone wanting to know more about Cyprus as a place to live. Illustrated with delightful line-drawings by the author's husband.
