This was a decent collection. I actually preferred this to his novels. Some of the pieces, that deal with the more poetic and symbolic aspects of the countryside and nature, were my favorite short stories. Additionally, the poetic one about the classical composers is quite a treat. There is a lot of variation here, and that plays to both the advantage and disadvantage of the collection. Nonetheless, for those interested in classics, I recommend this as vital reading.
