The Last Unicorn was a favorite of mine during my unicorn phase in my teens. I recommend Beagles book Tamsin as well. It's a ghost story. In 2010 I'm going to read his short story collection The Line Between which contains the sequel to Last Unicorn; Two Hearts.

37. The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle I got to really quite like this as it went on, but I could never quite get past the sadness of it all. I never wanted the unicorn to leave her forest in the beginning and I was mad at the hunters for ruining her happiness. Also for being hunters. But of ...
