Though many try few can truly boast of being the definitive source for accurate information on fly tying. Fish Flies is one of those few, a rare book destined to become a classic of fly-fishing literature. This book is so packed with information, we had to release it in a two volume set. Terry gathered his research from the most respected experts in each area of fly tying, making this project, literally, a world-wide effort with the most up-to-date and accurate information. Fish Flies: Volume One includes: a history of fly fishing and fly tying, plus tools, hooks and materials. Flies include dries, wets and nymphs; mayflies, stoneflies and caddisflies are discussed at length, and many patterns are given. Over 1,000 recipes are shown and 500 flies were tied by the author and photographed by Jim Schollmeyer for 16 colorful fly plates. Fish Flies: Volume Two includes: information, plus fly patterns for damsel- and dragonflies, leeches, worms, midges, crustaceans, streamers, shad, steelhead, Atlantic and Pacific salmon, Spey flies, plus salmon and steelhead dry flies. 1,800 patterns are given, 300 of these flies were tied by the author and photographed by Jim Schollmeyer for 16 colorful fly plates.
