The Carlyle kids have moved into the neighborhood -- and things are about to get wild.

As if they weren't already?!?

Avery, Baby, and Owen are the kids to envy now. The triplets of a well-known New York socialite are here to stay.

They all have spunk, attitude, and are destined to be the next Blair, Nate, and Serena whether they want to be or not.

This was a great start to an irresistible series that you can't help but love. This series will be your dirty little pleasure this summer. And the best part is, this is only the beginning. ( )

Meet the Carlyles, a new trio to hit the Gossip Girl Scene! Owen, Avery and Baby! Get ready for the triple threat!Owen, the testosterone of the three, is very hot and a swimmer (I like him already)! Envied in Nantucket by his player persona, he only has eyes for one girl. The girl of his dreams.Avery. Poor Avery all this girl wants is to fit in! Is that too much to ask?! Her scheme of perfect attempts leaves her no better off than before, it isn’t until she really lets loose and things get a little crazy, that things start going her way.Baby can’t wait to get kicked out of her snobby private school and have her mother send her back to Nantucket into the waiting arms of her stoner bf. She doesn’t find anything in New York worth sticking around for, that is until she meets J.P. Although he is as preppy as they come, he makes even her hippie heart skip a beat. You know what I think about drama. So what was I thinking, picking up a book called Gossip Girl! Broadening my reading horizons! And guess what! I didn’t hate it! I dare to say that I even enjoyed it! I really liked getting to know the characters and getting to know their roles in the plot. Yes, I hated Jack, I mean who wouldn’t the girl is a biatch! Baby, Owen and J.P. are my favorites! I guess I must do okay with drama in small doses. I do have to say that I am a Gossip Girl virgin, I haven’t read any of the first series, so my review is a little bias due to that. So, if you were a big fan of the first series, I can’t tell you how this one will compare. All I know is, I will definitely be reading the next book You Just Can’t Get Enough coming out in October! I know, I don’t know what has come over me, it must be the sizzling weather! You know you love me,The Story Siren ( )

Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen were the reigning princesses of the Upper East Side. Until now.

Following the great success that was "Gossip Girl" book series, the inimitable Gossip Girl introduces the most fabulous sixteen year-old triplets to ever inhabit the Upper East Side. When the Waldorfs move from their apartment at the end of "Don't You Forget About Me" the Carlyle triplets of Nantucket, Massachusetts--Owen, Baby, and Avery-- move in.

In the new titles of the Gossip Girl series, we will follow the Carlyles, plus three other teenagers living in gorgeous apartments, attending the most exclusive prvate schools nd treating New York's Upper East Side as their personal playground.

Baby is too wrapped up in the boyfriend she left behind to do anything remotely ladylike, preferring to spend her days torturing the Constance Billard teachers, and skipping class. Avery is determined to take over her deceased grandmother's role of society hostess, doing what she can to make friends via updated tea parties. And Owen just wants to find the girl he hooked up with over the summer. But finding her may just cause bigger problems than he could have ever imagined.

This spin off sounded promising but proved to be a lame attempt. Nt only is it a pale comparison to the original book series, but I soon realized the book was written differently: in an almost desperate attempt to portray a fake writing style. I flipped back to the beginning and noted it wasn't written by von Ziegesar but by Annabelle Vestry. The original "Gossip Girl" series flowed naturally, whereas this one appeared to be forced. As if Vestry is saying "Let me prove to you how uppity I can make these characters be." Overall, doesn't hold a candle to the original series.

The Carlyles is about sixteen year old triplets, moving from Nantucket, Massachusetts to the Upper East Side. They are not just moving anywhere in the Upper East Side but are moving in the Waldorf’s old apartment. The triplets consists of Owen, Avery and Baby. Owen wants that perfect girl, Avery wants to fit in and Baby wants to go back to Nantucket until she meets J.P. With all of this going on, you know the Gossip Girl will have a lot to gossip about.
At first it was hard for me to get use to the idea of a new cast because I really loved the old gang, (Serena, Blair, etc) but the Carlyles really bring a fresh flare to the series and still gives you what you love about Gossip Girl books, scandals, enemies and all the gossip you could want. I must say I enjoyed the book and will continue reading the series. I do hope that the Gossip Girl series will go back to Serena and the others in future books. I would love to know what happens to them in college and I am sure Gossip Girl is curious too.

I am a big fan of young adult fiction. it is a good way to keep up with what is going on with kids today. the gossip girl series has been a guilty pleasure to watch on television and reading the newest series has been just as fun. The Carlyles are certainly an entertaining and fast read (a few short hours) i would say that the gossip girl television series has the ability to keep going and if not as a televesion show then a series of films....it is light entertainment and worth a laugh if you are in the mood...as far as what the kids are thinking when they read it....well....it was certainly eye opening how fast kids seem to be growing up...
