Novel·la de lladres i detectius ambientada en la València de 1983, i protagonitzada per Toni Butxana, detectiu privat habitual en altres novel·les de Ferran Torrent. Hi ha tres línies argumentals (un robatori al xalet del comissari en cap de la policia comés per un cambrer necessitat de calés, el segrest un acabalat empresari en què acabarà implicant el cambrer i un altre intent de segrest per part de Terra Lliure) que acabaran convergint en el desenllaç final. Butxana aconseguirà que aquest final sia satisfactori per al comissari, per al cambrer i per a ell mateix. Tot amb el rerefons dels esdeveniments polítics i socials de l'Espanya i la València de 1983. ( )
