Some rather disruptive continuity errors throughout, and inconsistent discussion of spousal abuse. The bad guys in this series are a bit too bad, and it's getting a little old having a "spy" in every book. For some reason it just bugged me more this time, maybe because I've been working my way through the series pretty quickly now. Perhaps a break from the series will make the next one seem a bit more fresh when I get around to it again. ( )

The most disappointing book in the series. Usually, the H&H fight the mating for a bit of the book, but here they fought it until the very end. The book was violent, depressing, and filled with constant heated arguments. The sex was constant and meaningless because they were fighting before, sometimes during, and after. I honestly think you could skip reading this book and not miss anything important in the series. ( )

Cassa Hawkins has always been supportive of breeds and their rights, and being a journalist has always tried to put them in the positive light as much as possible. However the breed's have never made it easy for her, and for years she has resisted Cabal, who if he decided to claim her she would be his mate. Having to suffer with the hormone treatments to regulate the symptoms of the heat, the past several years haven't been easy on her especially when seeing him with countless women. So when Cabal decides to claim her as his mate now, Cassa resists because she doesn't want to be part of a 'harem' of women, only now not only is their danger to her heart there is also danger circling around her when their lives are threatened, and they must work together if they want to get to the bottom of what is really going on...Bengal's Heart is the 19th in the Breeds series. There are some books in this series that I have like more or less than others, but I truly enjoyed reading Bengal's Heart. There was a lot of steamy scenes that could singe your eyebrows if you're not careful, however there was also focus on the romantic relationship between Cabal and Cassa which I enjoyed even more. The interaction between these two could be intense but also make a reader laugh. I loved the humor in this story that the author portrayed, and I loved the plot, never a dull moment would sum it up pretty nicely. One of my other favorite aspects to the book was that there was a mystery to be solved, and I have always had a weakness for a good mystery, so there were multiple reasons that I enjoyed Bengals Heart. Overall an enjoyable read, with exciting scenes and deep connection between the characters and a few steamy scenes makes for a Amazing Romance that only Lora Leigh can produce. ( )

I don't why I continue to think this is Mercury's story. Anyway this is Cabal's atory and his mate is Cassa, the reporter that is always doing stories on the Breeds. There a lot of things revealed in this story, like the Primals. The primals are the Breeds that have more of the animal in them than the regular Breeds. For example Cabal when enraged gets stripes all over his body and his hands have actual claws not just hard nails like the rest of the Breeds. We find out that Jonas is a Primal no big surprise there. We also find out that some of Cabal's pride survived.

In many ways this is a very sad story. Mainly because it involves a massacre of a Pride of Lion Breeds that was carried out almost twenty-two years ago on Valentine's Day. There is so much betrayal brought to light throughout the story not just for this Pride but from Cassa's despicable ex-husband. I am really glad that Jonas left him alive to suffer for the crimes that he committed. Douglas Watts was a poor excuse for a human male and deserved much more than he received.

As for Patrick "Azreal" Wallace I am such he is more than a marked Breed now. All this killing and kidnapping a Breed mate I am sure Jonas will be after him like white on rice. It will be interesting to see where this goes. I would hope that the child is rescued and that he has been treated well. Ms. Leigh has always done a very good job of making the Breeds likable and exciting. You feel for their plight and only want what is best for them and their families. You want for them to be free and to enjoy all the things that they were denied for so long.

Finally I want my own Primal Bengal Breed. I love tigers as a whole and to have a Breed that actually had stripes and purred and got all tigery would have me panting for all his attention. This is one of my favorite of the Breed stories and I would definitely recommend the series to any that want to walk on the wild side for just a little while. ( )

"Reporter Cassa Hawkins has always supported Breed rights, believing they should be allowed to live free of fear and prejudice among the humans. A reasonable woman couldn't think otherwise, especially in the presence of Cabal St. Lawrence, a spectacularly muscled specimen of the Bengal breed. The epitome of the male animal, his sensuous growl can fire up Cassa's vulnerable body faster than a flame. Yet neither can ignore the nightmare unfolding around them. The Breeds have been incriminated in a series of violent murder, and accused of hiding a vicious serial killer. It's left to Cassa and Cabal to discover the truth. But as hunter becomes prey, are trust and passion enough to keep them alive through the night?" -- from author's web site.… (more)
