I see charity shops have now started sticking gift aid barcodes on books so we have the orignal barcode, the charity shop sticky and irremovable price label and now a great big gift aid effort to boot.

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0571239374, Hardcover)

With questions ranging from the deliciously unexpected (Who's the only person in literary history both to have been shortlisted for the Booker Prize and to have played a girlfriend of Ken Barlow's in "Coronation Street"?) to the reassuringly canonical (Dickens's fourth novel was the first he'd published not to have the main character's name in the title. What was it?), this fabulous compendium of literary knowledge is the perfect gift for all book lovers.

Which classic novel of the Second World War begins: "It was love at first sight"? in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, how many times has the Wife of Bath been married? In the Harry Potter novels, what are the first four names of Professor Dumbledore? In Othello, who kills Iago?… (more)
