Mary Janice Davidson..I can read anything that she writes...but particularly, I love her Betsy the Vampire Queen series, which a new book is due out in May!! I also love her Fred the Mermaid series as well!
Charlaine Harris of course...Sookie Stackhouse ... ... verging on romance in your fantasy, I'd recommend the Aisling Grey, Guardian series by Katie MacAlister, and Betsy the Queen series by MaryJanice Davidson ... (very chick-lit guardian bonded to a dragon, and trying to get apprenticed, female 1. person pov)
