Boasting a die cut cover with a working portcullis, this fact filled gem will appeal to all the history buffs out there, young and old. Open the cover and all the pageantry of the middle ages comes to life in this vibrantly colored and gilded pop-up book. There are only three 2 page pop-up spreads in this 27 page book, but they are very well done, sturdy and informative. They are the bridge, a castle and a cathedral, and there is a lot to be discovered. My favorite pop-up is the cathedral with it's many stained glass windows, it's lovely to see. ( )
