I loved the original tale of the Little Match Girl so was intrigued by this title. It turned out to be quite a sweet little story about a young orphan boy who is searching for clues to his past. His parents died when he was a baby and he begins to think that his mother is trying to contact him from beyond the grave. He keeps finding clues to his identity underneath a statue of The Little match Girl which is in a park that he visits. A wonderful book that would appeal to many young children and adults too. ( )
