I really enjoyed this book. The text is written from the perspective of a young girl who gets a piñata for her birthday party that she absolutely loves. One thing that I loved about this book was that the text was written in English on one page and in Spanish on the opposite. I also thought that the main character was written in a way that young children who were excited about their birthday party could relate to. The main message of this story addresses appreciating the things you have and also that other cultures celebrate holidays in different ways.

Personal Response
The story is told in English and Spanish. The Spanish words that are in the book in the English narrative are easily understood in context of the story.
