Looks like Kubo is taking a break from the current story arc. And right before the huge battle between Ichigo and Ulriquoria! But there's a lot of important facts in this volume. It takes us back a century to when Kiske and half the Vizards were captains, and shows us the events that lead up to how they are exiled. I skipped over this part in the anime because I was too impatient to get to Ichigo's fight, so this was all new to me. It was also great to see characters in the present arc as kids, joining the Soul Society and working hard to move up in the divisions. It explains some friendships that had no background before now. I thoroughly enjoyed this volume! ( )
