In this chapter book, Leonardo da Vinci’s life as a painter, musician, scientist, and inventor is discussed. Students could use this book as a base and do their own research on their own artist of choice as well. ( )

This is a very engaging and interesting biography about Leonardo da Vinci, covering his life from birth until death. There are fun illustrations and lots of information not only about da Vinci but also the era that he lived in. Probably most appropriate for 5th and 6th grade children. ( )

This biography is all about the life of Leonardo da Vinci and the struggles he faced as an artist growing up in a time with many other very talented people such as Michelangelo and Raphael. This book is aimed at middle elementary students. It displays a huge variety of information in a very entertaining and educational manner, making it great for children to learn about famous historical people.

Who Was Leonardo da Vinci? By Roberta Edwards

This biography is about the life of Leonardo da Vinci. Da Vinci did more than just art he made several discoveries in science and engineering. It also tells how da Vinci had his share of failures, but kept on going most of the time. Da Vinci also has problems starting projects and then not finishing them. It includes great information on the time period 500 years ago in Europe.

I think this is a great biography on giving the student information about the person and time period long ago. I like that they tell about all the different things Leonardo da Vinci did from science to art.

This biography is great for third to fifth grade students. I would have the students read the book. The students would have to research different subjects that Leonardo da Vinci. I would have them separate into three groups. One group would research his art, another science, and the other engineers. The students will write up a paper on their research. The third grade will write a page, fourth grade two pages, and fifth grade three pages either written or typed. ( )
