This volume is a good example of late Victorian erotica. The Laura Middleton story itself is a fine example of how erotic experiences may be combined to build an interesting story, with easy transitions between M/F and M/M encounters, with a sprinkling of M/F/M and M/M/F activity. Incestuous interests are handled in the book's stride. The main story is supplemented by a fragmented tale, in the well-worn style of a sequence of letters, and some interesting encounters are recounted. ( )
