This is a solid reveiw of the papacy from 1789 to 1995. Some of the Popes were great (Leo XIII, Benedict XV, Pius XI, John XXIII, Paul VI,and the John Pauls) while the others were not. It is a very interesting book to read, and seems well-researched. ( )
