This book was not at all what I was expecting. I was all lined up for a tense thriller, but actually it read more like chick lit. I'm not a fan of chick lit, in fact I avoid it on the bookshelves, but I really did enjoy this. It's like a crossover chick-thriller. Perhaps Seeber has invented a new genre! I found myself thinking about the book when I was halfway through and yearning to get home to find out what happened next. Although I sussed out 'whodunnit' I have to say that I had veered through nearly all the characters thinking 'theydunnit' so all credit to the author...I thought there was some pretty clever maneouvering in the plot. Admittedly the main character had more than her fair share of bad luck, but then it wouldn't make for such a good read if we didn't have to suspend reality a little. I feel converted. Chick lit no, but this crossover definitley - I'd look for more by this author and recommend this as a great escapist weekend read. ( )
