Another escapade by everyone's favorite overweight, stuttering, underage entrepreneur: Marcus Aurelius Fortunatus Tidd. Mark and his friends buy the failing town paper and raise it profitability by fomenting a feud between the Ladies' Literary Circle and the women's Home Culture Club. And they restore a lost heir to his fortune by solving a mystery in their spare time.

There's a definite ancestral relationship with Leo Edwards' Jerry Todd: Editor-In-Grief (1930) -- the setup is similar, and several of the incidents are parallel.
