Book description
Chela Campos was a Tarascan Indian girl; Lorrie Kimberly, an American boy. When they met at Los Tares in the wild Sierras of Mexico, a whole new world opened up for Chela, for at last she had someone to share her dreams. However, he was a foreigner- one of those gringos-and her people regarded all of them with suspicion.

How could she get her family to see that Lorrie was different? That he sympathized with their problems?

When a mountain of fire swept the valuable timber forests, Chela realized that everyone would suspect the Kimberlys of starting it! She had to warn Lorrie even though it meant defying her own people. And then tensions exploded!
