A collection of Daumier's lithographs originally published in the periodical literature of 19th century France portraying a male dominated society in a satirical way. In his drawings Daumier mocked the women who sought equality with men, first the Bluestockings, women who devoted themselves to literature in 1844, and secondly the Socialist women who devoted themselves to politics after the Revolution in 1848.
