I think that having a book that is song based changes the way a student perceives the text; it also engages them on a deeper level. I like that the illustrator incorporated many different children, such as the races, genders, and also the capabilities; there is a student who is in a wheel chair featured in the book. I think that this book is of caliber that I would definitely have it in my classroom. Seriously, I really do not like this book. There's nothing actually wrong with it, it's just so annoying. You have to say "boogie, woogie, woogie, oogie" - or something like that a thousand times. The pictures are nice and bright (and inclusive), but the repetitive text is almost more than I can stand. And unfortunately for me, both my boys have loved this one. I'm giving it a three simply to split the difference. no reviews | add a review
