Early on the author says something to the effect of 'Anyone who says he's never taken a beating is a liar'. In the couple of hundred pages which follow the author never takes a beating as he travels the length and breadth of Britain administering one punch knock outs to various firms top boys. It is truly a tragedy that, for so many years, violence was marred by frequent outbreaks of football. ( )
