Easy read and good for PK-2nd. About a dog named Zippy who is highly active and a little bad. Harris is the young boy and they are best friends. They play pirates and bury the treasure they find, make tents out of blankets at bedtime, and have a lot of fun together. The rest of the family is annoyed by him because chews things, digs in the herb garden, and howls a lot. Mom, Dad, and sister, Eileen are at their wits end when Zippy eats the pork chops that were for dinner. So they send him to obedience school. Zippy goes and graduates, but then he is so well behaved, and "fancy" that he isn't fun anymore. Again the family is displeased with his behavior. So Harris makes a "Bad Dog School" and they teach him to be a little bad and fun again. So he is obedient but fun. ( )
