Yes, I would have put DH in the freezer after Chapter 3 or 4. And make room in there for Cyrano de Bergerac.

#3- I'll see if I can find one of the dedications, Mar. Cyrano de Bergerac- It was to the soul of CYRANO that I intended to dedicate this poem. But since that soul has been reborn in you, COQUELIN, it is to you that I dedicate it. ~E.R.

I just got a 1910 hardcover edition of Cyrano de Bergerac, in French, for $15 in Berkeley. It's gorgeous, with a ridged leather spine and beautiful swirly blue endpapers. The inscription reads: "Scholarship price (sic) to our best French pupil in 1920 --J. Jobard" I'm in love.

*faints* Vincent Pérez as Christian de Neuvillette in Cyrano de Bergerac (based on a play based on a real person's life, but nonetheless...) Edited to fix touchstone.

... At first, I had a hard time getting into it, but found it rewarding once I did. Of course, any book with a connection to Cyrano pretty much gets instant approval from me. Now I'm about to start another advance reader's copy of a book -- Princess Ben by Catherine Murdock. It looks ...
