Ich habe Angst vor Städten. Aber man darf sie nicht verlassen. Wenn man sich zu weit hinauswagt, trifft man auf den Vegetationsring. Die Vegetation ist kilometerweise auf die Stadt zugekrochen. Sie wartet. Wenn die Stadt tot ist, wird die Vegetation in sie eindringen, sie wird die Steine überwuchern, wird sie umklammern, sie von innen aushöhlen, wird sie mit langen, schwarzen Zangen sprengen; sie wird die Löcher verstopfen und überall grüne Pfoten herunterhängen lassen. Man muß in den Städten bleiben, solange sie lebendig sind.
