While the movie was so-so, in my opinion, mainly due to the subtitles, I thoroughly enjoyed the two books that make up the story of Persepolis. Sometime ... ... material (it's not like there's a fatwah sticker) or distract them with something else. :)
I must say that I let Persepolis 2 sit for a while based on the movie - it just seemed to skip over so much of the honesty that was present in her childhood. Now I get the distinct feeling she ... I've finished Persepolis 2 - I really enjoyed how much more was in this book. I read the first Persepolis and then I got the movie from the library not really knowing that it covered both books. While most of the first book was followed pretty closely in the film, the second book seemed to ... ... that lasts. ;)

My first ever graphic novel. Thought it was a movie before I realized that it was book. There's been alot of buzz on here about it and the book lived up to it! I will be sure to read Persepolis 2! ... text secondary to the graphics. Obviously there are exceptions to every firmly held belief (smile)--my wife raves about the PERSEPOLIS books, for instance. And I respect her aesthetic views immensely... ... Tremain will also be on this list.

The story was interesting, but the art was confusing. It was difficult to tell the characters apart.

Hollywood has truley lost all orininality. Persepolis 2: The Story of a Return by Marjane Satrapi I'm curious to see the Persepolis film/cartoon adaptation. This fall, right?
Other works I've read are poetry by Forough Farrokhzad of course, a long prison novel called At the Wall of the Almighty, and some stories entitled In the Garden of the Brave in War.

It's about her return to Iran. I think you'll like it. I hear they're making a film of the book, but I'm not quite sure how I feel about that.
