Clues are starting to appear between the xxxHolic and Tsubasa series as Kimihiro starts to see what might be hallucinations of Shoran and Sakura in trouble. On another note, we are revealed truth of Kohane's past, the origins of her powers (and on the same vein, the discovery of a new feather) and the resolution of her arc, while leading to what might be the beginning of the end of both series. As usual, the volume is beautifully drawn by CLAMP while the series continues with revelations and new questions. Highly recommended. ( )

This volume still feels like it's made as a side-story or an add-on to Tsubasa, which I think is a shame as in my opinion xxxHolic is by far the most interesting of the two series. However, this volume does have a lot of strong point of it's own, not in the least that reading it will make volume 12 less confusing. In this volume we really begin to see how Watanuki has grown in his handelling of the situation between Kohane-chan and her mother, and also how he relies on Doumeki to back him up in his actions. He puts himself in danger but only to protect something precious and not without considering the consequences. If it wasn't for the fact that the Tsubasa crossover makes it very confusing for those of us not following both series, I would rate this volume very highly. ( )

In this volume Watanuki displays his growing maturity when he once again puts himself on the line to protect the young supernaturalist, Kohane. Other notable plot points include Watanuki's changing attitude towards Domeki (or did he really just hit his head?) and the loss of his trademark glasses.

This is probably one of the best xxxHolic volumes that has come out so far. There is a lot of transition as Watanuki comes to terms with who and what he really is as well as his changing relationships and attitude. This is apparent even from the one panel where Watanuki wakes up with Mokona and doesn’t get his freak on LOL! There is also some Tsubasa crossover and it becomes clearer how intertwined these two series are which may prove frustrating to some, but I enjoy because I follow both. This is a very well drawn story both in plot and in artwork and I’m looking forward to future volumes. ( )
