Work detailsThe Greatest: My Own Story by Muhammad Ali
None. Ali was the greatest boxer of all time, and in Hindsight a man of great integrity, and faith. This is a safe Bio with only a narrow glimpse into Ali's real thoughts and life. The best, and most disturbing given how it affected him, is the descriptions of how entered a state of semi-consciousness when hit hard on the head. Consider this book in the time (both the era and the stage of Ali’s life) when it is written. Notoriously ghostwritten "autobiography." If you want the facts, you'd do better with Thomas Hauser's bio, if you want context, you can't go wrong with Wilfrid Sheed or Jose Torres. Not that The Greatest is necessarily worthless, but by now there are by now any number of better books on the topic. no reviews | add a review
