Seemed too self-indulgent to be anything of real value. However, I recognize that it gets rave reviews from other readers, so I am more than willing to admit that I simply may be unable to appreciate it for what it was meant to be. ( )

Mr. Adler examines the various ways knowledge has been categorized throughout history, including the Dewey Decimal System and the Library of Congress System. These classifications are passed on and help people study a myriad subjects. ( )
