The Farewell Waltz by Milan Kundera
Heartbreak Tango by Michael Puig Can I suggest Mao's Last Dancer by Li Cunxin. Beautifully told - you don't have to know anything about ballet or even like it to enjoy this book. Last week - Beijing (China), then Houston (USA) & finally Melbourne (Australia) with Mao's Last Dancer by Cunxin Li.
This week - Fictitious 'Barchester' (England) with Anthony Trollope's The Warden. Having finished (& enjoyed) Mao's Last Dancer by Cunxin Li, I have moved onto to a couple of books which couldn't be more different:
- The Warden - Anthony Trollope (because a few LTers recommended it, as did Nancy Pearl :P) I'm reading the eBook from Project Gutenberg.
- The Grim Grotto ... I'm half way through Mao's Last Dancer by Li Cunxin. First part has been very interesting but quite sad. I'm looking forward to the second half :) ... Britain, and Brother Odd by Dean Koontz which takes care of the U.S.
I have the following lined up:
China: Mao's Last Dancer by Li Cunxin
