This is a fine book for new learners of French to quickly enlarge their vocabulary. It's broken up into relatively short chapters / themes, and then further broken down into basic words and advanced words. I'd say that if one were to master all of the words in the text, conversation and newspaper reading would pose few problems (assuming you know the grammar to put the words into use).

4 stars because it could have many more example sentences; the German version of this text has a sentence for nearly all of the words, whereas this book has far fewer. ( )
